I first discovered yoga during my teens as a way to help with my flexibility and mobility whilst taking dance classes and performing in theatre shows growing up. I had sprained both ankles as a child from doing ‘crazy child running around things’ and I didn’t have much upper body strength either. Stepping onto a yoga mat, I worked my way through ‘yoga with adrianne’ youtube videos or local gym classes. I always felt better after a class, but never recognised until looking back now how much yoga was benefiting me mentally as well physically.

Moving to Bristol in 2021, I felt overwhelmed with the adjustment post-uni, post-pandemic. Just trying to find some stability in a noisy and fast-paced world. This led me to join regular yoga classes and meet so many wonderful people from this community. I felt inspired to explore yoga further, completing my 200HR Hatha and Restorative yoga teaching training with Bristol School of Yoga. Following this, I trained 15HR Art of Intelligent Yoga Sequencing with Wen Yee Kok and Helena Murphy.

I have always been curious about how we can feel connected with the world around us, and how to feel connected with ourselves. Yoga has given me the comfort I need to navigate spouts of anxiety and dissociation. I think we have to notice our beating heart and our breath, the way we move our body, the muscles and bones that make us real people!

My approach to teaching offers breathwork, meditation, holding a pose to feel the sensation of it, moving fluidly and creative sequencing. I offer cues and adjustments that invite students to practice but are always optional.

Phoebe’s Yoga Class

Release + Restore Yoga Class

This class is inspired by my Hatha and Restorative yoga teacher training, exploring a range of yoga asanas (poses) and breathwork. I will guide you into holding asanas that encourage a nourishing sense of deep release in the hips, shoulders and sides of the body. Weaving styles of Hatha, Restorative, Yin and Somatic embodiment Yoga together to create a practice which encourages bringing you home to your body.

Using props to support your body, this class is suitable for anyone who would like to come and feel more grounded and flow at a gentle pace. It’s a suitable class for beginners and anyone who wants to try yoga and feel the benefit of a good hearty stretch, leaving you feeling more restored and mindful.

If you are someone who has any kind of injury or medical issues, please speak to me before this class and we can try to make this class more accessible to you.
