Aimee Milne

Yoga Teacher

My name is Aimee and I am an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher. My primary focus is building a friendly, welcoming community and holding a safe space for people to show up as they are.

I am fascinated by the workings of the human body including anatomy, the mind-body connection and the science of breathing. I am constantly learning and love using this knowledge base to support and empower my students to cultivate a practice that works for them.

I found yoga at a young age and would regularly attend classes with my mum. My love for yoga grew during my time at university when I discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. I completed my 200 hour John Scott teacher training in 2020 with Claire Berghorst. Since then I have taught a mix of online and in person classes including short form Ashtanga Vinyasa classes and restorative classes.

Aimee's Yoga Class at BYC

My teaching is rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, which is an energetic set sequence of synchronised movement and breath designed to cleanse the body and focus the mind. I love adapting classes to make them accessible for beginners and exploring asana modifications for individuals, as I believe Ashtanga yoga can be for everyone.

Short form Ashtanga vinyasa classes will include guided breathing exercises followed by sun salutations and sections of the primary series. This concludes with asana designed to slow the breath and recentre.
