New Ashtanga Class

December 29, 2023 Naomi Hayama

Kate Lemon is taking over Christine’s Ashtanga yoga class on Thursday 6-7pm from 4th January 2024. She also teaches our weekly community flow yoga on Saturday 9:30-10:30am and runs Yoga Basics course regularly (next one scheduled on 6th and 20th January). Kate’s passionate about teaching the benefits of yoga to everyone.

We also have a morning Ashtanga class with Aimee every Tuesday from 7:30-8:30am.

Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous form of Hatha Yoga that follows a set sequence of postures (asanas), joined together through the synchronisation of movement and breath (vinyasa). It is often referred to as a moving meditation, helping students to become stronger and more flexible, while simultaneously calming the mind.

We’ve got plenty of new upcoming workshops and courses in December and next year.

  • Yoga for Relaxation with Travis on Saturday 2nd December 2-5pm

  • The Power of Breathing with Naomi on Sunday 3rd December 11-1pm

  • Breathwork for the Immune System with Peter Sunday 7th January 11-1pm

  • Hypnotherapy and Relaxation workshop with Lucy Saturday 13th January 2-3:30pm

  • Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga with Naomi on Sunday 21st January 11-1pm

  • Healthy Spine with Cecilia on Saturday 27th January 2-4:30pm

There’s also a two day Yoga basic course with Kate on Saturday 6th and 20th January. You can attend just one or book both sessions for a discounted price.

We’ll be scheduling more exciting new classes so watch this space!

New Ashtanga Yoga class with Aimee

We’re please to welcome Aimee to our studio. Her Ashtanga yoga class is on Tuesday morning from 7:30 - 8:30am and you can join online or in person from 19th September

Aimee’s teaching is rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, which is an energetic set sequence of synchronised movement and breath designed to cleanse the body and focus the mind. She love adapting classes to make them accessible for beginners and exploring asana modifications for individuals, as she believe Ashtanga yoga can be for everyone. 

Great way to start the day so come and join us :)

New Yoga Classes and Workshops

We have lots of new yoga classes and workshops starting soon.

New Weekly Yoga Class

  • Tuesday 7:30 - 8:30am - Ashtanga Yoga with Aimee starts 19th Sept

  • Wednesday 8:00 - 8:45am - Yin and Yang Flow Yoga with Bebe starts 27th Sept (this is a donation based class)

  • Saturday 11:00 - 12:00pm - Hatha Yoga with Vicky start date to follow

Naomi’s Donation Based Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga class on Wednesday from 10-11am is back this week after a short summer break.

New Yoga Workshop

  • Harmony in Motion Yoga Workshop with Hanna on Sunday 1st Oct from 11:00-1:00pm

  • Chakra Balancing Workshop with Naomi on 15th October from 11:00 - 1:00pm

New Donation Based Yoga Class

June 12, 2023 Naomi Hayama

We’re really proud to announce another donation based class starting from September. Bebe, a new yoga teacher who has been offering a private donation based yoga class to her friends for several months, has recently decided to open it up to the public. This will be on Wednesday morning from 8-8:45am from 27th September. More details about the class will be released shortly.

Ella is now on her summer holiday and Cecilia and Natasha are taking over her community yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30pm until October.

Donation based and community classes are exactly the same as our other excellent classes but available at a reduced price. We understand yoga can be difficult to afford and we hope that this will help more people to access our brilliant teachers.

Spring News!

We have several great yoga workshops and courses lined up and new classes starting in April and May.

Here are the upcoming yoga workshops:

  • Sunday 23rd April 11-1pm - The Power of Breath with Naomi

  • Saturday 29th April 11-1pm - Men’s Yoga with Peter

  • Sunday 21st May 11-1pm - Stress and Anxiety Relief with Naomi

New yoga courses:

  • 3 week Yoga and Contemporary Dance Session with Claire from Friday 12 - 26th May, 7:15-8:15pm

  • 4 week Yoga for Posture and Spinal Strength course with Cecilia from Saturday 3rd - 24th June, 11:15-12:30pm

Natasha is starting a new Saturday evening class from 6-7pm from 22nd April. She's a qualified physiotherapist and teaches classical yoga - emphasising mindfulness and conscious movement with a holistic embodiment.

And finally, Ella is taking over Maria’s Thursday evening class from 7:30 - 8:30pm from 4th May. This will be a community Vinyasa Flow class.

New Classes - Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga with Yoga Nidra

We’re pleased to announce two new weekly yoga classes:

Wednesday 6:00 - 7:00pm - Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra with Nicola

This class offers supported Yin Yoga poses that are held for several minutes at a time, inviting a deeper release of the body. We end with a Yoga Nidra - a spoken word relaxation that travels through body scanning, breath work and visualisation to help reset the nervous system and brain.

Sunday 5:30 - 6:30pm - Hatha Yoga with Cecilia

This class will give you a grounded sensation and prepare you for the upcoming week. This class will often use props such as yoga blocks and belts pay attention to encourage detail alignment and actions.

Both classes are available in person and online as well as on MoveGB. All our classes are open to all ages and abilities so that everyone can receive the amazing benefits of yoga! Please book in advance.

Affordable Classes

To make our classes more affordable, we now offer community classes, class passes and discounts.

Our community classes are exactly the same as our other excellent classes but available at a reduced price. Everyone’s very welcome to attend and these classes are suitable for all levels of students including beginners. More details of our prices can be found here and here’s a list of our community classes:

  • Tuesday 7:30 - 8:30pm - Vinyasa Flow with Ella

  • Wednesday 6-7pm - Vinyasa Flow with Hana

  • Wednesday 7:15-8:15pm - Yin Yoga with Hana

  • Thursday 12:30 - 1:30pm - Yoga/Pilates with Claire

  • Thursday 6:30 - 7:30pm - Outdoor/indoor yoga in Horfield with Naomi

  • Thursday 7:30 - 8:30pm - Vinyasa Flow with Ella

  • Saturday 9:30 - 10:30am - Flow Yoga with Kate

We also have a donation based mindfulness meditation and yoga on Wednesday morning and planning to put another class from September.

In our studio, you can either attend a single class or to buy a class pass. Class passes are good value pre-paid cards that let you enjoy classes for less, you can either purchase an in-person card or an online card. Our online classes are also much cheaper way to attend.

Prenatal Yoga and Pilates with Claire

Pregnancy Yoga Class

Our weekly prenatal Yoga and Pilates with Claire’s class time is changing from 4 - 5pm to 4:30 - 5:30pm from Monday 27th June.

This is a beautifully tailored prenatal class to support your pregnancy journey. Safe and effective exercises are combined with nourishing breathing techniques, deep relaxations and reassuring language to ensure you feel supported, equipped and focused.

Each session is designed to bring forth and enhance your skills in preparation for labour and beyond, whether you use the session as a much needed respite from your day or as a focused practice into motherhood

The class is available online and in person as well as on MoveGB. Please try to book in advance.
